Lawn Care:

Why should I fertilize?

A good fertilization program is key to keeping a healthy lawn. Much like our bodies, grass needs nutrients to grow. If our bodies become insufficient in a vitamin or mineral we can supplement ourselves with a multivitamin.  Fertilizer is the equivalent of a multivitamin for our grass.

What is dethatching?

dethatching is a process that removes dead grass, mulched leaves, pine needles, and other debris from the soils surface. Over time the thatch layer gets thick and smothers the soil blocking nutrients from the root system. If your lawn looks brown and weak regardless of what you do, thatch may be your problem.

What is aeration?

Aeration is a process where cores are extracted from the soil from tines on a aeration machine. Removing cores from your lawn helps decompact the top soil and promote root growth by allowing air and nutrients to reach the root system.

Why should I overseed?

Overseeding has many benefits. It helps crowd out weeds, it  introduces different species of grass into your lawn, (which helps protect the lawn from disease) and thickens your turf.
